The Independent Adoption Center is a compassionate and dedicated domestic open adoption agency. Since our founding 1982, the IAC has successfully placed over 4,000 newborns with families throughout the United States.

The IAC stands out for several reasons:

  1. The IAC staff consists almost entirely of dedicated counselors with Masters degrees in Social Work who are trained to provide counseling and support throughout the process.
  1. Costs are fairly high and the process can seem grueling at times. The IAC understands this! This is why our fees are on a sliding scale and we support you through every step of the way.
  1. The Clinical Director of the IAC is a nationally regarded expert with over 40 years experience. She has written numerous groundbreaking articles and books, such as Dear Birthmother.
  1. The IAC is licensed in California, Georgia, Indiana, North Carolina and Texas and has placed newborns with families living in 36 additional states. In addition, the IAC also has authority to provide services in New York and Connecticut.
  1. The IAC is one of the only agencies in the United States that has never discriminated based on age, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, ethnic background, or race.
