For starters, I’m pretty bad at writing about myself because I tend to ramble but here goes! I guess I’ll start with the basics. I have a BA in Psychology and I’m still considering pursuing a Masters in the same field. I have a strong passion for helping others and if I’m not doing something to make a difference in the world, I just don’t feel right!
In my spare time I love to write poetry and listen to all genres of music; creativity is also what drives me aside from helping others. I hope to one day publish a poetry book, but for now it is still a dream! When I’m not writing or listening to music, I’m reading, hanging out with friends or learning how to speak Italian. I have a thirst for knowledge and love to learn about people and what makes us each so different.
I was born and raised in the Bay Area and I couldn’t ask for a better place to be raised. I love learning about different cultures and the Bay Area is the melting pot for diversity. I’m a sucker for the simple things in life, despite all the complexities life may bring. I feel that sometimes the only way to get through the chaos is to remember the simple things that matter, because at the end of the day that is what’s most important and will always remain.
One of the main things that made me want to work here, aside from it being a non-profit, was IAC’s mission to ensure every child grows up being loved and supported. It is important to me that every child grows up with the support they deserve to develop and live happily throughout their lives and IAC provides that. The fact that they provide open adoption without any discrimination to those who wish to adopt is also very important to me. I feel everyone should have the right to live as they wish, happily and fully without bias. IAC provides the environment for growth in non-profits that I’ve been searching for and I hope to be able to make a difference with all the work I hope to produce here!
Besides that, I told them I was a “dork” in my interview, who else would hire me after saying that! =)
