This site is owned and operated exclusively by the Independent Adoption Center (IAC), a non-profit licensed agency with offices in California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, New York, North Carolina, and Texas. We understand and share your concerns about privacy. As a result we have put this page together in order to communicate to you exactly how and why we collect personal information from this website and what it is used for. We also provide a way to "opt-out" of receiving communications from us. If do not want communication from us, please send us an email with "unsubscribe" in the subject area.

Information you give to us will be used exclusively as you request (to provide you with information about our services, for example). Please read this Privacy Policy for details about what information we collect, how it is used, and how it is protected.

What information does the IAC collect?

The Independent Adoption Center collects the following information from this website:

  • Anonymous usage information including IP address and referring site.
  • When you fill out a request form on our web site or call our offices, we will ask for information such as your name, address, business, phone number and e-mail address.
  • We may also ask for information about how you heard of the IAC or the reasons why you are contacting us.
  • If you are seeking employment with us, we may also inquire about your interests and experience.

How is the information used?

We use information about individuals and adoption professionals only to help us assess your situation so we may offer better services or to provide you with information packets, newsletters, or other materials. For potential employees we keep your professional information on file depending on our staffing needs.

Is the information shared?

The IAC keeps all client information completely CONFIDENTIAL. Your information will only be shared with members of our staff or in order to assist you better. IAC does not share your information with any third parties except for the following: From time to time we may engage or employ contractors to perform functions on our behalf. Such parties will have access to only that personal information required by them to perform their functions, may not use such information for any other purposes, and are bound to conform to the IAC's Privacy Policy.

Do you track site usage?

Yes. IAC tracks the movement of our visitors through our site through a variety of means. These include:

  • Reports based on links visited
  • Reports based on source of entrance to the site domain
  • Reports based on search engines and search terms used to find our site
  • Reports based on amount of time spent viewing specific sections/pages of the site

Please note however that we do not track the movement of individual non-registered users. The software we use does not allow for the personal identification of individual users. That is, individuals remain anonymous when visiting www.adoptionhelp.org until they choose to provide personally identifying information via registration, email, request forms, or other means.

Protection for Children

In compliance with the Federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), IAC does not knowingly request or dislpay personal information from anyone under the age of 13 without requesting and receiving parental consent first.
