ABOUT US

Mike grew up in Michigan and Kristin grew up in southern California. We met eight years ago and were married on a beautiful August day seven years ago. Our love for each other grows each day and we’re excited to begin our journey as parents. We make a great team, each day striving to be better spouses than the day before. Since Mike has relatives who are ADOPTED, creating our family through adoption was a natural route for us. Together we enjoy reading, playing games, nature walks, movies, and bowling. Travel is a deep passion of ours. Kristin spent time during college living in England. Two of our favorite vacations together were to Yellowstone National Park and Hawaii. We look forward to creating memories with our child experiencing the amazing sights and adventures the world has to offer.

KRISTIN ABOUT MIKE

Mike is supportive, kind, intelligent, comforting, funny, and makes me feel special. Mike teaches science at the high school and college levels. It is fun to see how excited he gets talking about earthquakes and volcanoes. Mike is wonderful with our nieces and nephews, which strengthens my desire to see him become a dad. He will be a warm, loving, supportive, and kind parent. Mike is on weekly bowling leagues and even coaches high school students in competitive bowling. He enjoys video and card games, puzzles, Sudoku, science fiction and fantasy books, as well as science fiction and action movies. Mike is looking forward to teaching our child about science, bowling, bike riding, and chess. He is excited to include our child in projects around the house, his delight in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and the art of cuddling.

MIKE ABOUT KRISTIN

Kristin is going to be a great mom; from singing and playing the guitar with our baby, to taking walks in the park, to reading bedtime stories. Kristin spent nine years as an elementary then preschool teacher and is looking forward to her new role as STAY-AT-HOME MOM. Kristin grew up cooking with her mother and can’t wait to create memories with our child while cooking. She recently completed her Masters in Music Education, composes music, and gives private voice and piano lessons. Kristin is involved in two community choirs and church choir. As a musician, she enjoys singing and playing the piano, guitar, and violin. She enjoys musical theatre and opera. She looks forward to sharing her love of music with our child. Kristin also enjoys traveling, speaking Spanish, reading, bike riding, running, scrapbooking, watercolor painting, photography, baking pies, drinking tea, and cooking healthy meals for her family. She is excited to witness the daily discoveries of our child.

OUR ENVIRONMENT

We live in Thornton, Colorado. Thornton is between Boulder and Denver, just an hour and a half from breath-taking Rocky Mountain National Park. We enjoy going to the Denver Botanic Gardens and the many musical offerings in our area. There is a playground and park right behind our house. We look forward to sharing the bike paths, creeks, and other beautiful scenery our neighborhood and state have to offer. We live on a cul-de-sac where we picture teaching a child how to ride a bike.
