About Us

Hello! We are a professor, and an educator with two loveable dogs. We admire you and the love you have for your child in considering open adoption and are committed to supporting you through this journey. We are eager to provide a nurturing home for your child, filled with love, learning, laughter, family and friends. You and your child will be unconditionally loved and welcomed into our family. Call anytime! We both share a love of teaching and of helping students learn. Jason is an instructor at a local community college and Colleen works at a different college running a teacher training program. We are fortunate that the school schedules allow for Jason to have summers off, as well as a nice long break in the winter. Colleen has a generous vacation schedule as well. We are excited that we can both arrange our schedules to be home during our baby’s first months. Colleen has a top-notch childcare center on her campus, so she will be able to visit with our child all through the day!

My Wife Colleen

Colleen cares a lot about those around her and often practicing random acts of kindness like paying someone else’s bridge toll. She is very creative and sews beautiful quilts and toys. She loves spending time with our young friends whether reading a story, playing baseball and catch on our front lawn, or just sharing a snack. She also loves to bake and our house is always filled with the smell of a homemade pie or cookies in the oven. She looks forward to every part of parenthood, from cheering on first steps, to endless games of Chutes & Ladders, to volunteering in our child’s classrooms. I know she will be a warm, caring mother.

My Husband Jason

Jason is very loving and affectionate and is a loyal friend. He loves going camping, hiking and fishing every chance he gets. He can’t wait to help our little one fall in love with the outdoors. He has a great time playing with our niece and nephew, either outside playing baseball or soccer or inside playing video games. He is so ready to be a hands-on dad. In fact, he was the first to help out when our nephew had colic, taking the midnight shift so his brother and sister-in-law could sleep. He looks forward to coaching sports teams, leading scout troops and supporting our child’s interests – whatever they may be. I know he will be a loving father.

Family and Friends

Our families and friends are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our newest family member. Together they create a large network of loving adults and children who are eager to baby sit, spend summer days swinging in the park, or play Legos, army guys or princesses. We are confident the warmest welcome will be from our two dogs, Fudge and Mocha, who will be quick to snuggle, to teach our child how to play fetch and most importantly how to toss them a treat from the treat jar.
