About Us

We met in April 2005 on a blind date arranged by a mutual friend. We began dating and fell in love. Carl proposed on the beach at sunset and we were married six months later. We will celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary this coming spring. We have always dreamed of raising children in a loving home and feel adoption is a wonderful way to start. Our relationship is built on a foundation of faith, respect, friendship and love and we make it a point to spend time together every day. We enjoy cooking dinner together and watching movies. We can’t wait to have a little helper in the kitchen and an extra snuggle bunny on the couch while we watch Shrek for the tenth time. We are looking forward to extending our love to our child.

About Carl by MeLinda

Carl is my best friend and a lot of fun to be around. He has a great sense of humor and has a playful side that really comes out around children. He is warm and inviting and immediately accepts others with an open heart and mind. Carl is a huge UNC Tar Heels fan so our child will be a little ‘Heel’ for sure. We have a UNC onesie waiting for our child. Carl loves to stay active. He enjoys playing tennis, golf and basketball. He especially enjoys the friendly rivalry basketball games with the neighbor’s son and cannot wait to have our child join them. I look forward to the excitement on our little one’s face as they dunk their first basketball while sitting on Carl’s shoulders. Carl also enjoys fishing. He can’t wait to see our child’s reaction when he helps him or her hook a worm on their first fishing trip. Due to Carl’s flexible work schedule as a pharmacist, he looks forward to attending school events, dance recitals or ball games. I know he is going to be an amazing dad.

About MeLinda by Carl

MeLinda is the most caring and nurturing person. I am always amazed by her innate way of knowing all of my needs without me saying a word. She is the friend in life everyone deserves. MeLinda has a strong faith in God and is passionate about singing. She has the voice of an angel and I look forward to hearing her sing night-time lullabies to our child as she rocks them to sleep. MeLinda is an outstanding cook and enjoys spending time in the kitchen. Each year she helps the children at church bake Christmas cookies for shut-ins and can’t wait to show our little one how to decorate reindeer cookies. MeLinda is a database manager for the Trauma Center at a major medical center. Although she loves her job, she is looking forward to one day being a stay at home mom and attending our child’s ball games or scout events. MeLinda will be a great mom because she is patient, tenderhearted and full of love. I am so blessed to have her in my life and cherish the opportunity to parent with her.

Our Family

We both grew up in loving homes in Eastern North Carolina where all of our immediate family still lives. Since they live so close to us, we love to get together to celebrate holidays and birthdays as well as take family vacations to the beach. We can’t wait to see our child’s expression when they put their toes in the ocean for the first time. We spend a lot of time with our four nieces splashing in the ocean at Myrtle Beach and building sand castles at the Outer Banks in North Carolina. They already have a beach shovel and bucket ready for their new cousin and are excited to have an extra set of hands to help. Our family anxiously awaits another baby to love. Granny Edwards has already started quilting a blanket for the new crib.
