2009 Award from Google to the Independent Adoption Center

(January 2009) The Independent Adoption Center (IAC), headquartered in Pleasant Hill, CA, is pleased to announce that our Google Grant for Internet Advertising is still going strong for the year of 2009. The substantial Google Grants award will continue to help support the IAC in reaching birthparents and adoptive parents and bringing them together for successful open adoptions.

The Google Grants program supports organizations sharing Google's philosophy of community service to help the world in areas such as science and technology, education, global public health, the environment, youth advocacy, and the arts.

Designed for 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, Google Grants is a unique in-kind advertising program harnessing the power of Google AdWords advertising product. Google Grants has awarded AdWords advertising to hundreds of nonprofit groups whose missions range from animal welfare to literacy, from supporting homeless children to promoting HIV education.

This Google Grants award will help IAC achieve its mission and goals of facilitating open adoptions by increasing the number of "matches" that IAC facilitates and by increasing the number of birthparents and prospective adoptive parents who work with IAC. Adoptive parents pay for IAC’s services while all birthmother services are free.

IAC will utilize this award to further refine its Internet ads and to increase their frequency resulting in reaching more birthmothers, birthparents, and prospective adoptive families.

Founded in 1982, IAC is a professional, licensed, nonprofit national adoption agency focused on transforming lives through open adoption by serving the best interests of birthmothers, children, and adoptive families.
