Can gay or lesbian couples adopt twins?

Yes, LGBT families may adopt twins, just like heterosexual families. In 2012, IAC placed 4 sets of twins. Two of four adoptive families were gay male couples.

It is important to note that the birthparents chose the adoptive parents who will parent their children, but LGBT families are chosen as frequently as heterosexual families.

Finally, there were an unusually large number of twins in 2012. More commonly we place one or two sets of twins each year so the likelihood of any one family having twins placed with them is very small. I should also note that we will not split up twins. They must be placed in the same home.
