Can a gay/lesbian couple adopt a child with out being discriminated against. My partner and I have been together for 17yrs. I have a biological son who I had the pleasure of raising with my significant other. We are excellent parents, however our son is now 25 yrs old and we want to adopt really bad.

Most Lesbian and Gay male couples can adopt. Unfortunately, Lesbian and Gay male couples may face discrimination depending on the state where they live. In many states, including California, Lesbian and Gay male couples do not face any discrimination. Other states will not allow Lesbian or Gay male couples to adopt, but do permit Lesbians and Gay men to adopt as single parents. Utah and Mississippi do not allow any Lesbian or Gay male couples or individuals to adopt at all.
