Will you let me do an adoption if i am in a wheelchair?
We do not discriminate against people with disabilities, but you would need to talk to a social worker about your disability. Depending on the situation, we may require a letter from a doctor to give a diagnosis and prognosis. This is part of every adoption called a homestudy, where the adoption agency determines if the adoptive household is a safe physical and psychological place for a child.
We have placed children in homes where one parent was in a wheelchair.
