I have epilepsy that is not currently controlled by medication. I am being seen by a neurologist and they have it under the best control they can. My doctors have strongly advised me to not have another child seeing as it might make my seizures become truly unmanageable.
Having epilepsy does not automatically disqualify you from adopting.
It is hard to say how your epilepsy would impact your ability to adopt. The IAC would require a letter from your doctor with a diagnosis and prognosis. The letter would need to include an evaluation from the doctor about your ability to parent given your diagnosis.
This would be in addition to the medical history required for every adoption homestudy.
