Who pays for the open adoption, the birth parents or the adoptive parents?
In adoption, all services to birthparents are free. The adoptive parents pay the fees. To see IAC's fee go to: http://www.adoptionhelp.org/adoption-fees
Sometimes a birthmother may need help paying for costs associated with the pregnancy, and the adopting parents may be legally able to offer support. The law regarding this differs from state to state, for example in Texas adopting parents specifically may not buy the birthmother a car. In Georgia parents working through an agency can help with reasonable pregnancy related expenses, but parents working with attorneys can only help with medical expenses. Before offering any financial help to a birth mother, be sure to talk to an experienced adoption lawyer or with your adoption agency.
