1. Adoption Information Session - Getting Started

The Adoption Information Session (AIS) is a highly informative introductory session designed to introduce you to open adoption, IAC's unique and supportive counseling-based approach, costs, and next steps. While the session is designed to cover a wide variety of topics, a good deal of time is always set aside to field questions and to engage in discussion.

In addition, during the second portion of the session, you will be introduced to a couple that recently adopted a child through IAC. Typically couples share personal experiences, talk about the process, and are available to answer your questions.

While the AIS session is FREE and there is no obligation, you will have an opportunity to sign up afterwards. Schedules can be found below.

2. Fast Track Workshop (Weekend Intensive) - Signing Up

The Fast Track Workshop enables clients to accelerate the adoption process by completing three of the four primary steps in the Home Study process.

During the Workshop (two full-day sessions), after signing your contract, you will

complete your Home Study Individual Interviews (counselors conduct separate interviews with each partner),

attend the Saturday workshop where you will receive detailed adoption-related guidance and education,

receive guidance and coaching (and examples) on how to write your Dear Birthmother letter, and

learn the most successful ways of working with IAC to speed up the adoption of your child.

Once you complete the Fast Track Workshop, you will be a full member of the Independent Adoption Center family with full access to all benefits including free online support groups, IAC's newsletter, and other benefits. In a single weekend, you will be well on your way to adopting your child.
